IN THE FACADE WE TRUST
You’re torn between a girl obsessed with you and a creature. Whose words can lead you out of this endless and dangerous loop? Which “you” are you? Who is the real monster? Trust the right person in the right cycle to get closer to the exit, or be misled by facades, complicating your next loop.
In The Facade We Trust traps you in a corridor caught in an ever-changing and increasingly unsettling loop. With each cycle, you’ll notice subtle differences, but more importantly, you’ll feel yourself progressing through the story.
However, your objective in this corridor is not just to observe the changes—it’s a game of trust. As the narrative unfolds, you will be forced to place your trust in someone during each cycle. The girl, who is obsessive with you, and the creature that isn’t what it seems will try to convince you that they are thinking of your well-being. The catch? Who you choose to trust will depend on both the knowledge you’ve gained from previous cycles and the unfolding events in the current one.
GAMEPLAY
In The Facade We Trust combines the gameplay mechanics of psychological horror games and walking simulator horror games. A loop mechanic similar to P.T. progresses the game. You won’t have to pick up many items. There aren’t any puzzles but there are choices to steer the storyline. In The Facade We Trust is about the experience and story.
THE STORYLINE
You have a stalker and she is relentless. Her pursuit is predatory. You do everything you can to ignore or chase her away but nothing works. She leaves cryptic messages and has no problem confronting you directly. You can feel your anger rising but feel helpless at the same time. How did this happen?
Time paints a different picture. She isn’t the only one stalking you. Maybe you should listen more carefully to everything she is trying to tell you. When the other stalker appears, everything begins to spiral out of control. There is a lot more going on beyond the surface level.
In The Facade We Trust is full of twists and turns. The choices you make ultimately shape the outcome. However, reaching the end may leave you wondering whether or not you made the correct choices.

THE HORROR
Your home is supposed to be a haven. A psychological, paranormal, and surreal invasion of your home is terrifying. You are stuck at home in a neverending cycle of torture. If your home isn’t enough, two entities consistently twist your mind to make you rethink every decision. There is no clear path out of this mess so all you can do is hope. Hope feels paper thin.
In The Facade We Trust has some jump scares but doesn’t get carried away with them. The jump scares in place are effective. They aren’t the lazy, random jump scares that appear for no reason other than to make you jump.

AS I SEE IT
I’m a sucker for these types of games. I’m also picky with them. I’ve played plenty of these games. There are a lot of games inspired by P.T. that have the loop effect. Things change with each iteration of the same place within the loop. Many of them are sloppy and slapped together quickly with asset packs. In
In The Facade We Trust may use some of the same methods but remains unique enough to stand out. There are some moments where I genuinely got creeped out. I also struggled a bit with choice because I have a hard time picking one path when I know there are always consequences no matter what. Choosing can be annoying, but these were well done and my choices felt impactful.
There is one scenario I got a bit frustrated with and got me close to giving up. However, I pushed through and I’m glad that I did. If you play the game and get to the part I’m talking about (you’ll know), push through. It may take a few tries but you’ll get there.
All in all, I enjoyed In The Facade We Trust. I felt the horror, enjoyed most of the gameplay, and was pleased with the storyline.
